The Anna and John J. Sie International Relations Complex is gleaming today as the copper roof installation is nearly complete.
More than 7,000 pounds of copper will top the Sie International Relations Complex when the roof is finished. Made from copper that is 95% recycled copper, the material was chosen for its low maintenance, longevity (copper lasts about ten times longer than typical roofing materials) and its aesthetic complement to other DU campus roofs. The copper was purchased from Revere Copper Products (Rome, NY) which was originally established by none other than copper-maker Paul Revere in 1801.
The building is expected to be complete at the end of February. Students and faculty will begin using its new classrooms in the Spring Quarter, which begins March 21.
